@Turtles73002: I would wait until after college, get your grades as high as possible now plus just enjoy undergrad all together while it’s there. Getting work experience before law school is a good thing imo both because schools like it and it helps you figure out what you want to do because you don’t have to be a lawyer.

@Turtles73002: you will probably only make it into wustl, GW, BU tier school with a 3.4. if you can get to 3.7 you could make t14
im not sure if it would hurt to apply this cycle but it definitely wouldnt hurt to also apply next cycle and get some good work experience under your belt as well

work experience also greatly improves your chances
though from experience if you do decide to wait another year its still in your best interest to secure your academic letters of recommendation while youre still in school
@RightOneCaterpillar: thx i really appreciate that. I just dont know if a 3.44 vs a 3.6 would make that much of a difference. really depressing that my freshman yr is potentially gonna kill the dream lol
a strong addendum and displayed upward trend can do you good. also like idk how to say this but no ones life was ever ruined because they didnt go to a t14 lmao

also you can make it into big law from outside the t14
thats usually the standard no? like you have to submit updated grades as they come in. idk i applied after graduating so

you have better odds at higher ranked schools if you apply with your final (higher) GPA and some full-time work experience but if you’re not too picky then it’s fine
also be warned there is a school of thought that the early application bump is at least in part explained by correlation (as in people with good applications are likely to apply earlier). people usually say like "oh but it still helps to apply when there are more seats and money available" which is true but if they're going to hold onto your application until grades come in then you may as well spend that time working on writing good papers and generally enjoying undergrad
yeah piggybacking off of bunny if you just want BL then it might be worth applying this year but tbh if you really want t14 then it might be best to wait a little
